Meditation on the Transfiguration.

Have you ever wondered what is the meaning of the Transfiguration of Christ? Gospel has it that our Lord took Peter, James, and John on a high mountain, and there He transfigured - 'His face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as the light. Just then there appeared before them Moses and Elijah, talking with Jesus.' Then a bright cloud covered them, and a Voice from the cloud said, “This is My Son, whom I love; with Him I am well pleased. Listen to Him!” To understand, of course, we must know the stories of Moses and Elijah from the Old Testament. The two characters played key roles in prefiguring the story of the Passion of Christ. Please watch the explanation in the video below. Pertinent to the Transfiguration is that the Scene is an example for our spiritual meditation. We must, as part of our daily lives, be entranced on the Passion. Following Christ and imitating Christ will bring us to the highest peak of our spiritual lives.

Thanks for reminding me about the exercise. Yes, the physical movement like stretching helps condition the body for meditation. The mental meditation for Catholics call on focusing on the Passion of Christ. It is essential that we must do this every day of our lives.
