Back in college, I had one semester of studying the Church We Love - the Catholic Church, the one, holy, catholic, apostolic church that Jesus instituted. As college opens minds to all isms, I did get a panoramic view of the world's prime religions and philosophies. Wow. Very interesting. But in the process of studying and understanding other beliefs and contentions, I was able to appreciate more Catholicism and embrace more lovingly the Catholic Church. Here's why.

I love taking courses related to my faith. I almost enrolled in Maryhill School of Theology for a few courses but work got in the way. Huhuhu.

Never too late to study further about the faith. There are actually a wide range of materials we can read on during our free time. Glad you have that desire to learn more about the faith.

I was raised in a Catholic family but I have long ago changed my religious belief. It's not because of the frequent church scandals involving priests, the hypocrisy and double standards being given to rich church patron compare to ordinary churchgoers nor the cosmetic makeovers being applied by religious authorities because of their unwillingness to implement real reforms that are demanded by modern times. I lose my faith because I started to question beliefs and doctrines yet receive no satisfactory answers other than to just have "faith".

You should have studied. Failure on your part on studying and researching is not reason to give up the faith.
