School bus driver stops to help older lady

United States
March 6, 2020 5:04pm CST
My family and I were coming home from eating today when we noticed a school bus. The Bus had it's emergency lights on It did not have the stop sign out. We passed by the bus slowly, we saw no driver or children on the bus. As we were passing by, we saw an older lady with a man standing beside her. Upon further investigation, we found that the man had already called for an ambulance. The school bus driver was leaving the neighborhood when he saw the lady on the ground. She was unable to move, and had fallen into a divot in the yard. We didn't stay around to find out what happened next, but we sure was glad that the bus driver had seen her and stopped to help. It's good to know that there are still decent people in this world, isn't it?

It is nice to see and hear about someone being kind to someone else. It seems like all you hear about anymore is how bad everything and everyone is.

I agree with you, the news is getting more and more negative each day. It's good to hear about the little things that people do to help one another.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Yea, it's a shame if you think about it, it seems like news stations make sure to broadcast all the bad news,. It would be nice if they would broadcast a story on something like this for a change.

@sweetashoney I agree. Even the local stations just broadcast the same things on repeat throughout the day, and most of them aren't good / neighborly news stories.

Yes, I was glad that they had stopped. She wasn't quite in the road, but I think a faster vehicle could have still injured her.

Yes, I agree. He didn't have to do what he did, but he stopped and made sure that she was going to be taken care of.

@lovinangelsinstead21 I hope so too. The lady lives on the street behind my aunt, but my aunt does not know her. If she's injured her hip, she may be in the hospital and then in a rehab facility for a few weeks.

It really is! I would like to think if something happened to me that, someone would stop to help

@simone10 That's the way I feel, I'd probably have lots of people who just wanted to go home and not worry about me.

@ScribbledAdNauseum My luck, if anyone saw me they would be someone who didn't want to get involved.

Isn't it? Seems like the news hardly talks about these types of things now. I am hoping the bus driver won't get into trouble for doing this.

She was able to talk, so I think she will be okay. She may have broken her hip, back or a leg.

You're welcome. I thought I'd contribute to the good news, we need more of that kind of news on t.v.
