All sold out

All the stores around here no longer have any hand sanitizers. The Bath and Body Works store one day had signs up that they were all sold out of hand sanitizers. They got a shipment in the next day, which were all sold that day! However on the news last night they said that the medical group that informs and advises us about the Coronavirus stated that it is safer to just us soap and water!

I'm just using soap and water and trying not to touch my face. It's amazing when you pay attention how many times one touches their face during a day. Just propping your face up with your hand under your chin while watching videos or whatever. It happens so often. I didn't pay much attention to the symptoms and now wish I knew a reliable site to check. I have developed an ear ache and a runny nose. I never get sick because of all the precautions I take so I'm a little concerned.

@dfollin My ear drum was broken by my abusive first husband, so it is scarred and more susceptible to infection. Fortunately it has eased up. Still feeling a little warm and headachey and tired, but better than this morning.

I understand that the symptoms and weakness, that is all I have heard because I don't have cable. I hope you get rid of your ear infection.

@patgalca I am sorry, my right ear drum was busted when I was attacked and all it does is hum. Some days worse then other's. But it never aches!

Yes, hand sanitizers are effective against bacteria, not viruses. It's best to use soap and water.

In fact I think the soap can work the same. When I am home, I always use the soap to wash my hands carefully.

My son took me shopping on Sunday. All the hand sanitizer was gone. They said that it was gone all week and they were not getting any more. The shelves were empty in every store we went to including a Super Walmart. I heard that people bought it up and are reselling it at very high prices on eBay and other places. They deprived those who need it so they can profit from it.

@dfollin I did buy water but not excessive amounts. I have several cases. They should put a limit on emergency supplies so everyone has a chance to buy some.

Always better to just use soap and water. But the hand sanitizer is for when you arent around them. We still have plenty here.

Also here on our country, there is already lack of medical supplies. Because people love to hoard lots of them and sell them at a much higher price ??
