This morning I got woke up at 4am b my husband texting me to let me no there is no school today, tomorrow and all of next week due to the current virus going around. School is closing in hope to minimize exposure for parents and students as well as staff members. So 9 days to see what to do with this 3 that doesn’t take us out to a lot of places. They will let us know if the following week if there school around next Friday.

Ours is closed for a reason we live a big metro policing area with lots of hospitals and lots of people. With being around a lot of hospitals we also hold a lot of those people that can easily get it this virus and die from it. It’s sucks living so close to DC so what there’s affect the rest of the state

@Deepizzaguy yeah it can be fought but if the weather is good we have lots of trails and parks so the kids can have lots of outside play as long as they are not sick.

There's a lot going on with all of this. So many events are either being cancelled or postponed.

@ShyBear88 It sounds like a very reasonable plan to me. I am in full agreement with closures and cancellations.

They are doing so to minimize exposure tight eh virus having no new host it’ll die quicker and less spread to others which would give it a new host.

It is better to be safe than sorry. What will you do with the kids, teach them while on the break?

Parents can’t teach we are not taught to teach at home nor do we have what they are suppose to learn at there current ages. Teacher where to plan things but they closed before they could pool teacher to make lesson plans for at home. So all the kids have our there learning apps. We have crafts to do for now.

At least they are being careful so kids don't get sick. Guess they'll have to have school at home.

As of right now there is no school work for the kids they didn’t have time to put anything together. The kids can hop on their school linked apps like they do for home work or breaks. As of right a now it’s up to us parents to do what we can and keep them entertained

@amitkokiladitya every places is picking when is enough. Thankfully for our area we have only had a few people test positive. Were I live we get lots of travelers so it doesn’t surprise me that we do. With DC being 30 minutes away we get lots of traffic with people. So a lot things have closed or restricted people coming and going.

My university has cancelled in-person classes and transferred to online classes. They've also cancelled any meetings or events of 50 or more people. Effective until the end of the semester. Kind of curious how public schools will follow suit.

This is public school for my children they are only 9,7, and 5 and the 5 still stays home anyways. As or right now the kids can log on to there learning apps. It’s still another two weeks till Spring break. There was suppose to play learning form home this coming Friday on the 20th but decided very early this morning no school. So parents and staff had no time

@ShyBear88 Shortly after I commented, our local public schools just closed as well. All until April 6.
