Years ago, I was a part of The Mormon Church, and though I had issues with the Church, seeing is that most Mormon Churches are on the larger side, and out of an abundance of caution, this is a good decision on there part... As I said this is not a Church I am a part of, and haven’t been for years but still have good friends and loved ones In the Church!

This strikes me as a panic response that does not make a lot of sense. It is like the ban on sporting events that has been imposed in the United States - the chances of widespread infection at such gatherings is extremely low, not least because an infected person can only possibly infect people sitting or standing very close to them. At a church service, this is most likely to mean close family members, who are just as likely to be infected in the family home as in Church. If normal precautions are taken - not shaking hands, coughing into a tissue, etc - nobody needs to be unduly concerned.

Our church is taking the normal precautions, avoiding hugs, not shaking hands, and some with severe underlying health issues are being told to self isolate by their doctors. I’m going on with my day to day life, but taking the necessary precautions! Thank you for chiming in!
