Anyone else here have terrible trouble just paying attention?

My ability to stay on one task, idea, or goal is poor. If I was able to stay focused on one path, one assignment, one college major, one hobby, the things I could have accomplished now. I keep changing my career interests. TODAY alone I've considered: copy writing, illustration, ux/ui design, marketing coordination, and marketing analyst. I can't even manage to stay track on a fitness routine LOL. Because of my poor concentration abilities, I am behind everyone else. :/ Even doctors/medication hasn't truly helped in the past. It sucks lol.

Omg this is the most relatable thing I have read really ! My mind just keeps going to try another thing and then it jumps to something else leaving behind so many unfinished projects sadly lol

@Dyvette16 Is Poshmark a viable option for making some side-money? I've been looking into it.

One thing I have been sort of trying lately is the "30 minute rule". I even put a background on my phone that say "30 minute rule. Study. Exercise. Draw." I have yet managed to do all 3 in a day, but it's been sooooort of helping me with finishing this degree. I basically tell myself "just do 30 minutes of study. That's it. If you want to do more, then that's fine, but just 30 minutes. It goes by in a flash!" and a nice cup of coffee. Then again, who knows if this will ever lead to anything lol. *sigh*

Omg I'm on the exact same boat. I've tried cognitive behavioral therapy, pills, lists, alarms, etc...and nothing has worked. It's a miracle that I have a college degree, but it sucks because I want to study another thing lol. I wish I could help you with advice or ideas. I hope you can figure it out soon :)

Well first of all, congratulations that you have a degree!! That alone is a big accomplishment. Like if I can just finish this degree I'd be at least 50% where I want to be in life. I am on track to get one, and I told myself this is the last and final attempt for me, it's a general enough degree that it works for many fields but most employers just care that you HAVE one! I wanted to try CBT, I heard good things about it, but maybe I won't. I've considered paying someone to sit near me and literally threaten me if I get off-task lmao. Well thank you for your response!!

I also have short attention span and lose interest very easily. for example, I have just started learning typing the proper way. Now I find it boring so I will do other things in the meantime and get back once my interest is up again. It's okay if we fall behind what's important is we keep trying and we will find success eventually.

Yeah, just trying and trying is better than nothing. Building the habit is what matters. "We are what we do everyday", so even people who run 5 minutes everyday or study 10 minutes a day are way more ahead than those that try for a week and give up. Thank you for the encouraging words :)
