To help with a chuckle or two during these uncertain times I decided to count down ten songs with titles that are good for the COVID-19 scare. Most of the lyrics aren’t that GERMane to the situation (and I know, like Buford T. Justice said, leave the Germans out of this ), but the titles fit. Case in point, the obvious song..... #10: Don’t Stand So Close to Me - The Police It has nothing to do with social distancing, lyric-wise. Rather, it’s a take on schoolgirl crushes on the teacher. Did you know The Police re-recorded this song? Released post-breakup to fill up a greatest hits album, it was called “Don’t Stand So Close to Me ‘86.” I’m proud to say I’ve never made it all the way through that version without turning it off. The original, though, is classic. So’s the video, which features Sting advertising the (English) Beat on a t-shirt. And that look on Andy Summers’ face when Sting takes his shirt off....HILARIOUS! Oh, and the title fits. Don’t Stand So Close to Me Written by Sting Recorded by The Police From Zenyatta Mondatta, 1980 He starts to shake and cough (run!!!!!! ):

What a brilliant, timely idea @FourWalls! I hadn't watched that video in years. They sure had fun making that one, obviously!

We are being forced to do so and police are on the streets fining people huge fines who don´t have a reason to be out. To put a stop to drivers they are doing the same. To go to the shops its one metre at least from another but a lot don´t want to know and a British guy got in front of me yesterday without even asking and I tried to back away from him. He was not respecting anything at all and doing all the things you are not supposed to do in public.

I recorded a cover changing a word and wanted to sing it to Debbie Harry: "Please Stand So Close to Me. "
