Often, it's believed that only women can suffer from domestic violence, this is a tragic myth. There was a man who was abused by his wife, she smacked him in the mouth, ran her car into his truck in a rage, etc. When he tried to call a domestic violence crisis hotline for help, the woman on the phone thought he was pranking her, just because he was a man. To me, that's absolutely insane. Many men who suffer like he did stay silent for years, because they fear they won't be believed.
