Subway...A Brand Name which itself suggest healthy food in Fast food category.
Although Subway has a spectacular products to satisfy tastebuds of foodies while taking care of calorie content.
Is it successful or Not ?
in my opinion Franchise strategy of the company has killed themselves
In a competitive market like India, with population of 1.35 Billing and fastest growing cities, urbanisation, youth crazy for healthy but tasty food, Everybody want there share in the largest growing Market for the world.
But competition of being largest no of franchise in country or worldwide only killed the business of Subway in india, as just to have maximum no of franchise , company did not focus on the correct mapping of area's where it should open the franchise, rather they even opened 2/3 franchise outlets in same vicinity, resulting into business of subway of that vicinity only got decided among those 3 outlets, resulting into low revenue and hence low profit or rather lossess to the franchisee.
It has impacted a lot and many franchisees are getting closed, in current date Subway being a Big Brand worldwide has certainly behind Big food chain's like MacD, KFC, Domino's in India.
