Do you find it good staying at home during the COVID-19 lockdown?

We are being affected by the COVID-19 but it depends on one's outcome if they will think about the situation as a good thing or a bad thing. Our printing business for 6 years has been affected by the Enhance Community Quarantine. We are not allowed to open stores due to community quarantine and the only stores that are allowed to operate are medical and food stores. Even dealing with our customers online is prohibited. I tried once but I was reminded by my other printing friend telling me not to operate as they will take off the license to operate once caught. I am a Quality Analyst for a call center company and in the previous discussions that I had here, I mentioned that I was working with Google before. Despite BPO demands this tough times, "Work From Home" option is not available for us since we are dealing with financial information. This is for security reasons. But we have the option to stay at home and I am with my two kids at the moment. So imagine how agonizing it is for me since I came from a corporate mindset and here I am staying with the kids. On the other hand, my husband is working as a Team Leader for a Telecommunications company and he can't afford to stay at home because of his duty calls. Without him, the team of cellsite technicians won't know what to do. They are required to go to work and install 4G signals around the Metro. We normally talk via Video Call or Skype. BUT, I'm glad to let you know also that I am happy not going to work at the moment. Staying at home made me realized that I need to take a break from this hustle and bustle of life.I have more time cooking as before I keep on ordering food outside or the usual food deliveries which I find "more convenient" but as I now realized it, it is "less healthy" Plus, I was able to do my groceries ahead and maximize my budget rather than spending it outside. The urge to buy outside, malling, dining out, etc got killed because we don't want to get the virus so badly, right? I was able to make time playing with the kids compared before. Playtime was more enjoyable as I don't have to worry about meeting deadlines with a customer. There was not much of demands because everybody knows I am not operating mg printing shop at the moment because of the business restrictions caused by quarantine. There are lot of things to be thankful of. Mine happens to be having peace of mind and having more time with my family. How are you doing lately? Please don't hesitate to share your thoughts.

I’m extremely worried about my son, his wife, my two grandkids, and other family members living in Manhattan. Otherwise, I’m enjoying being a homebody.

I see, I hope they are also doing fine. Where are you currently staying at the moment? Do you still have work even if there is a pandemic going on?

@DianneN this pandemic shall pass and hope your family back in Manhattan is safe. Good to know that you're in Florida at the moment enjoying retirement. So after this pandemic ends (probably in May or June) you'll go back to Connecticut, right?

@resy21curapika I’m retired and we are living at our condo in Florida. We plan to return to our house up north in Connecticut, next to New York, in June. We shall see. So far, everyone is okay. I hope it stays that way.

You've written '*Did* you find...' This is the Past Tense. But the time of quarantine isn't over yet. It is still here in the Present Tense. And from all we hear and read, it will be here for some time in the Future, too. :-(

Oh! That was a good catch. Thank you so much. I really appreciate it. I was assuming that the pandemic had "gone" already, hahaha. Kidding aside, I will try to see if I can still correct that. Hope that you are also on top shape at the moment. Are there any cases in Germany, too?

Well I might get bored doing the same routine if it continues in the next few weeks. Here in where I am at, we are in a complete quarantine for 4-6 weeks. Right now it is the second week. So what activities were you doing during the first few weeks?

Perhaps you were too busy before and you really needed a rest. I think a lot of people are sort of happy to have a break from their busy routines. Lets hope all this helps to get rid of this awful virus.

I agree. I was extremely busy. This is the best time for me to learn how to cook. And this hasn't been done ever since. I think all moms needs to know these basic stuff but I am still getting the hang of it. Do you have any cases in England as well?
