Coronavirus and lockdown

The Indian government has announced a twenty one days lockdown of shops and malls. Will anyone tell me who is going to compensate the loss these business houses or shops are incurring? With most of the shops remaining close don't you think we may have to starve one day. Private doctors not being allowed to practice will increase the number of patients in government hospitals where there is apt to be a rush and spread of the virus.

I saw the videos of police with canes striking at people whom are not obeying the law.

Such policemen are getting suspended from their jobs for their atrocities.

But if they don't do this all of us will die of infection. It would be better if we render our support and don't complain. The government is doing the best they can

That's not something right. They can allow the shopkeepers at least a few hours to open their shops.

One has to go out to fetch the grocery and other food items. Here in my city online marketing facility is not available. Moreover, it's not right to close down all the stores. I may need slippers, a spectacle etc. which I cannot buy them as the shops are closed. Even, some food item shops are closed one can't stay indoors in such a situation we have to go out.

@aninditasen We have to make the best of it. Some eye doctors will work if it’s an emergency. You can always shop online if necessary.

@DianneN Eye hospitals which are private are closed and there is a lot of rush in the government hospitals. Here in my city we don't have the facility of shopping online.

I know that and the government still has to chalk out some means like opening all the shops for a few hours a day such that essential commodities are not scarce.

It's crazy that this never happened during SARS and MERS but with this one it was really contagious.
