Mindless Eating ...

During the past several days of constantly watching the number of cases of coronavirus/COVID-19 go up ... I've begun to worry more. I'm no different from anyone else ... I know many of you worry too. Life has become uncertain ...
I've begun snacking a lot. This is something I don't normally do. I've come too far to begin to put weight back on. Sadly, I know I have put on at least 5 lbs. It doesn't feel good at all.
I've caught glimpses of myself in my mirror ... I see a giant in it. I'm not a giant but, my imagination sees one. I have to turn away. If I'm not always careful I have a tendency to gain weight.
So ... tomorrow I will begin new ... and quit snacking, go back to normal for me. If I were very upset I couldn't eat ... when I worry I do snack. Nervousness.
Like everyone ... I'm nervous at what tomorrow will bring in the way of more cases. From what the president, doctors said today on the White House briefing ... the numbers they predict are dire. They are saying as many as 100,000-200,000 people could die. Oh my ... I feel a funny feeling in the pit of my stomach.
I see now I am going to have to get involved in several projects around the house to take away nervous energy. It's only negative ... no one needs negative energy at this time. I am a very positive person ... I am human, also. I'm not perfect ... so, sometimes ... I become worried.
It's time to begin channeling the negative into something positive to make something special from it all.
Does anyone else experience what I am experiencing at this time? Does the pandemic make you worry, begin to snack ... you not notice until you gain a little weight? I'm so glad I am sensitive to gaining so, I didn't just keep on and on. Mindless eating ... not paying any attention until too late.

I love to snack but, my body doesn't like how it feels, ha! Today I began to get back on track. I do understand about snacking though.1 person likes this

You made me smile. I'm proud to say today I did very well to get back on track and my body and mind felt better for it, ha!

Snacking on unhealthy foods would only make our resistance and immunity weaker and vulnerable to the virus, I would nibble more fruits if I were you and if can't be helped perhaps things like black chocolate and raisins would be better to eat.
Mindless eating besides making our body weak would also deplete our food supply which we should be conserving or maybe rationing already right now.

You are so right. Today I ate a nice tossed salad ... I'm back on track to eating like I should now. A week of eating, snacking like I was ... was from being very worried. You are right it hurts our resistance and immune system and makes us vulnerable to the virus. Thank you for reminding me of that. Sometimes, we have to be reminded.
