Last night Skip and I stood in the doorway looking up at the sky. How pretty it was ... the half-moon and stars were shining brightly. It made a pretty picture. Today ... the sun is shining brightly making another beautiful day. The air is warm, there's a little breeze blowing making it a 'perfect' day. Beauty ... I am finding beauty even knowing our world is sick. I think to myself if it's right to see, appreciate such in the face of what is happening? Coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic. Gracious ... look at those words again ... it's so hard to believe, isn't it? I'm finding beauty in the way people are helping each other ... in all aspects of life from the average person ... law enforcement ... medical field, so forth. They are truly risking their lives to help others. Not only that ... when they risk their lives to help ... their families are at risk, also, if they come home. I keep listening to our news, briefings ... promises to help, promises broken ... anger, ugliness, name-calling at such a time when our country is in the worse pain yet ... every person is sharing this pain. Spitefulness ... I'm also, seeing such ugliness coming out of people. You wouldn't think so, but ... it is happening. People wanting to spit on things, go around people to deliberately give them the virus ... are they angry because they got it? I wouldn't ever want to hurt anyone because I'm hurt, would you? I find myself sleeping more to get away from all that is happening in our new world. When I'm awake I have to know what has changed so, I can always be alert to what's happening. When I have enough ... I want to just go to sleep again. That's not a good thing I'm sure. I need to begin a project. I have such good intentions ... now, if I can just carry them out. The good thing ... today I got back on track with mindless eating. I think I'll do one thing at a time, not beat myself up. I think we all are vulnerable in some way or other right now. This isn't the time ... I will just do better as time goes by.

We always look for the good around us. I hope you can find a project that will keep you away from the media for a time each day. Mike and I only watch it if we feel it is absolutely necessary. Once we use to keep it on more but we found we were much happier when we did projects, took a walk or watched old reruns. Watching too much news can drain you mentally and physically. Just my opinion on that.

You are right about draining mentally, physically. I find it hard to stop ... I'm afraid something could happen now I need to know to protect Skip, Pups 2 and I. You and Mike are being very wise to do what you do because that's healthy. I need to do that.

There is so much beauty around us and it is great that this has given you a wake up call to see it and appreciate what is good. First and foremost make sure you are safe and well and keep away from others no matter how hard it is at the moment.

@GrannyGee We are mostly staying at home. We had to go out shopping last week for a little old lady we look after in another town. We have stocked her up for about 3 weeks. The supermarkets have put 6 foot markers on the ground so people stay apart. We do not really need anything one thing my mother always told us was to always keep our food cupboards well stocked which we have always done thankfully so if push comes to a shove we do not have to leave the house for at least a month. There is talk at the moment that this could last up to 6 months. So I guess we should continue to stick to the distance measures as we are being told to. I think you have more open space than we do in the UK. I am sure your garden will be much larger than ours and soon the warmer weather will be here so we will spend much more time outside.

@garymarsh6 Gary, we want to go out once more to add to what we have. I have a feeling that soon it will too risky to go out ... each day things are happening quickly here. Our country has already passed others with the most cases. The situation is dire only a few hours from us. The next county ... only a few miles the cases are many now, each day more and more. I'm so glad you guys have all you need, and your friend you look after. I can't see this going away any time soon. Skip and I live out in the countryside and there's space for a garden. I will only do a few containers with vegetables for our garden.

We are isolated from others and if we have to go out ... we stay back from everyone. I notice a lot of people will invade one's personal space. I don't know if they aren't aware or not thinking. What do you guys do to stay safe?
