MONEY....Electronic or Cash? Which do you prefer?

I use my bank card (debit card) to shop very often. I find this is much less hassle than shopping with cash. The way things are now in the world, I don't want to be walking around with a bunch of cash in my pocket. What I like about debit card is that it is fairly secure because unless someone sneaks your PIN number they can't use your card. I have seen that happen too and the person defrauded the card holder of over 12000 in the next six months, but I consider that to be the banks fault because the card wasn't properly cancelled when reported missing. I once had my credit card lifted by a cashier when she put it thru the cash register. The credit card company called me when they noticed unusual activity. I didn't know until then that my card had been missing. Eventually they did catch the guy too. The company restored my credit at no cost to me.

i still prefer cash. What I do is list down the things i want to buy and think of how much i'm willing to spend, for example to buy a bag, shoes or clothes. I bring more than enough amount to buy the things I listed. But I still bring an ATM just to make sure that I can withdraw money if I ran short.

I usually prefer to use my debit card also. Especially when I go out shopping with my friends that way I don't have to carry a lot of cash. I don't like to carry a lot of cash unless I am with my husband. I only carry a little bit of cash in case I am out some where and they don't take credit cards I know that they are rare now a days but I have come across a few places.

I think it's true some places don't accept credit cards now. It is so much safer for them to know for sure, with debit cards, that the money is already there.

Cards on one hand have made the transactions very easy but yes risks are involved. Another hassle with cards is to remember the password if you have to draw money from ATM which is difficult. But plus point is you do not have to carry lots of money also that you can take out money on holidays as well.
