Ivermectin which is a drug used for parasitic infections treatment has been found useful against COVID 19 by Australian researchers. Laboratory tests revealed that the drug reduced the virus levels by 99.8 per cent within 48 hours, and complete elimination after three days. It's believed the drug works by paralysing the virus and 'overwhelming its nervous system', preventing it from replicating. The research group is waiting to carry out clinical trials with humans, to affirm the efficacy before public usage.
