The photo is a little cruddy. Year 12 formal. I was alone for it but it wasn't all bad. I remember Bones was a thought to ask. Could you imagine it? A 5'4" female in a white and black dress walking in on the arm of a skinny, tall, longhaired bearded bloke she would one day affectionately (even after all that has happened) call bones? That or there was Mr Y.

@Fa_Maverick I would have been honored to have been your date through night. I would have made damn sure you would have felt like the most special girl there!

Damn girl! Ooh la la! I can't believe a hottie like you went to the formal alone. Some lucky guy missed out on the opportunity to escort you to the dance! It's too bad. Those guys didn't know what they were missing! Glad you had fun though!

I went to formal alone because I am independent though before going felt thoroughly humiliated because of course it had got around that I DID have a date. When he couldn't come though of course it seemed like it was all made up. No hard feelings to the guy that couldn't make it cause work happens. Mr Y might have taken up the slack if he had of known about it earlier and had a suit aha.

@Fa_Maverick I don't know if it's different in Australia, but here in the US it's perfectly acceptable to go to the formal without a date. My daughter and just about all of her friends went without dates. I'm sorry that your guy couldn't attend with you, but happy to hear you went anyway. I like a good strong independent woman, and I believe you are definitely one!

@moffittjc Im finding happiness in my independence. I used to hate relying on myself because I didn't want to be responsible for my own mistakes. Before this year I was petrified of being put in a placement group on my own or with only 2 people but I am actually happy now. It is acceptable just no one wants to be the loser on their own or that's how it was seen in my year.
