Have You Ever Witnessed Ball Lightning?

We have a level 2 storm coming this evening into the night ... it turns to a level 3 tomorrow. We can see the long line of storms tracking across the country coming toward us bringing with it the possibility of tornados, high winds, heavy rain. Skip isn't afraid of storms ... I am afraid of storms. I will keep our leashes close by to put on our Pups2 just in case. It's scary when the electric goes out ... but, I have a solution to that now. I have purchased some solar lights ... keep them charged by the sun each day ... bring them inside at night for ... extra night lights. They stay on all night. I bet this is an idea you might not have thought of. The light is free and stays on if the power goes out. We also, have battery-powered lanterns. Light makes all the difference in the darkness. I'm not as afraid in the storms when I can see in front of me. Does that make sense? I was thinking it's the same way when one is going through so much in their lives. Light ... beautiful light makes all the difference. You know how in the winter one gets sad because of the darker days ... they don't even know why. It's the light ... getting a bulb that burns light like daytime ... makes all the difference. I would be telling a story if I said these storms that are coming didn't worry me. Storms are so much more different than they used to be here. They can be very violent ... and people die now because of trees falling on houses and such. I've always envied people like Skip who enjoys storms, rain ... respect lightening but, not afraid of it. I can't even bear to look at it when it suddenly lights up everything. As a child living at my Grandma Alma and George's ( she was paralyzed, George was blind ... he was the only grandfather I ever had, he was my step-grandfather) ... I learned to be frightened by storms because scary things happened to me there. When a storm would come up I would run with a quilt to get on their old red, vinyl couch with the quilt wrapped around me ... I would be dreading what I would see every time. Grandma Alma would be sitting in her upholstered rocking recliner ... George would sit by her in his old, caned chair. I could see them through the doorway in the next room through the little peephole I had in the quilt. Then ... sure enough like numerous times before ... it appeared in the bedroom doorway straight across from the old, red, vinyl couch. It sat there as if it was looking at me ... then slowly move forward ... stop ... sit for a few moments. I would close the peephole quickly ... and sit waiting for it to get me. It never did. I would open the peep hole up slightly ... and it'd be gone! The blue ball of lightning as big as a basketball would be gone. Everytime a storm came up ... it would appear from the same doorway of my teenage aunt's bedroom. I haven't ever talked to anyone who ever saw the blue lightning ball in their life. Once at a big box store a storm came up ... the lights went out in the store. I grabbed my young son by his hand ... stood looking in the distance across the parking lot at the Hardee's there. A giant, red ball of lightning appeared over the roof, disappeared. Have you ever seen ball lightning? (Photo of ME as the little girl living at my Grandma Alma and George's.

I sure was scared. I haven't seen any for many years now. It is an awesome, scary sight ... amazing ... I was too afraid to keep looking at it ... it seemed to be alive. As a little girl I didn't know what it was ... if I'd been braver I would have walked across the floor to touch it. Thankfully I didn't ... I would been electrocuted probably.

When I was little I thought everyone saw it like I did. I grew up in a violent, mean enviroment ... and as a child I thought everyone lived like that.

Not seen any. The weather office has been telling a storm is on the way in our part of India but no sign yet.
