Monday, Monday. Can you imagine the Monday people are going to have when they go back to work? The Monday-est Monday in history!!! I’m sure a lot of people are looking forward to it, though, maybe not as much as this song. Here’s the next song on my list of favorites with “stand” in the title. #3: Stand Tall - Burton Cummings Yesterday JJ said he didn’t think this was going to make it. Why wouldn’t it? MAN, what a voice! The older I get the more I appreciate Burton Cummings. I was too young to catch the Guess Who (oh, go on, guess who!), but I think my brother had a couple of their 45s. By 1976 I was listening to rock and roll and able to hear some of the classic Guess Who songs on the radio. Then pianist/lead vocalist Burton Cummings put out his first solo album. And WOW. This was his biggest solo hit in the US, understandable given the way he shows off his chops in the delivery of the song. And, as I usually say when this or the far lesser-known follow-up single come up as a subject, as great as this song is, I like “I’m Scared” better. MAN, what a voice! Stand Tall Written by Burton Cummings Recorded by Burton Cummings From Burton Cummings, 1976 I’d almost give my hands:

I’m sure many folks are looking forward to returning to work, especially those who lost their jobs. I remember that song. Not too shabby.

He is, indeed. And he pops up on Facebook live to chat and play a song or two a lot during all of this.

@FourWalls He's a very gifted man, who cares about other people. How rarely we witness this, among the successful musicians of the world! Many are self consumed, care only about themselves.
