Erm.. Cabinets rearranged?

United States

Not all, mind you, but a good amount. I rearranged the bowls, plates, casserole dishes, coffee cups and odds and ends. I don't feel like going through the hassle of taking a picture, so just use your imagination. There were atleast : 16 cereal bowls 5 soup bowls 28 dinner plates 20 coffee cups Why so many? A mixture of gifts and inheritance. We have LOTS of cups too, and while I started to tackle that, I didn't finish because I need to try to tackle the counter space again. I am happy with what I did get done though. I also realized that I had more casserole dishes than I first thought. I'm thinking that perhaps some of the things that don't have a match should either 1) Go back to their owners (We have atleast two plates that belong to my aunt 2) Go to goodwill. Is there a cabinet you need to tackle?

@m_audrey6788 Yes, except I do not like one of the cabinets. There is one cabinet that goes in one direction, and another goes in the other. The cabinets are walled off from one another, which means that there is space in the cabinet that has to be relegated to things we do not use often. It's hard to get to these things when we do need them.

Thank You. I need to tackle the glassware cabinet too. It has several things, including just mason jars for saving things such as gravy, or making our own salad dressing etc.

I am not good at arranging things and usually end up spoling things

@anamika161088 It is sort of the same for me, but I like being able to make sure everything is neat.

I should probably go through all of them, but I'm sure I won't. Actually, I'd like to tackle the top shelves, but I need a step stool. I'm tall, but not tall enough.

I had to use a little stool we've had for ages to get to the top. I started with the glasses, and rearranged some but honestly I need to just get rid of some of them I think.

Maybe you can still just keep those who has sentimental value on it.

@ScribbledAdNauseum But you may need more space so you can decide which ones to get rid of.

All the cabinets in the kitchen need to be done and a LOT of stuff donated.

Same here. I just can't bring myself to donate some things, like my great grandmother's dishware.

@LindaOHio That's another problem here. I don't have room to pack amything away, unfortunately. Living in a hoarder house.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Well, that's a little different. Pack it away if it's taking too much space.

That is my problem, I an not so good at it. When I put dishes away, I just put them back without actually stopping to place them with the same sized items. I feel better now that it's done though.

At least you got started on tackling the cabinets. I don't have any cabinets to tackle, but I have a few containers of my own stuff to go through and purge at some point.

I'm the only female in the house, so everything in the kitchen is mine, whether it actually is or not. I do the cooking so...

@tammys85 I do, but I don't do a lot of it. We have decided that we have split days of who decides what we'll eat. I have Wednesday and Sunday to decide, and I usually try to cook.

I'm glad they aren't too bad. I really need to buy contact paper and re-do the cabinets as well. That will have to wait. I'd also like to get the men in the habit of putting food in the cabinets, but that's never going to happen..

Yes, I do have a 3-meter wide cabinet to tackle with. I am sure it is already dusty inside. Maybe I could throw away some things inside.

I have one of those myself. Actually two. There are things inside that I could be using but just can't get to.

i have to do that as well. During this quarantine I have become very lazy and not getting out of bed much. Maybe finding something to do like that will get me out of bed.

Honestly, I've been a little more active during the quarantine than I am out of it. Good Luck. Just try for one thing like that a day, and if you feel like doing more than do more.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I need to get up and maybe blast some music while cleaning. Music makes me more motivated. That’s good that you have been able to be more active.

We used to have two silverware drawers bit it was condensed down to one a few years ago so that the drawer could be used for something else. I need to go through silverware and decide what to keep and what to give away.
