Fish is cheaper when bought at the market. There are ambulant vendors selling in the community but it's marked up. Since I woke up early this morning I decided to have a trip at wet market to buy supply for us and for Cotton the cat. I also bought other staples and veggies.

I am very interested in why it is called a wet market, since we have heard so much of that term these days.

I never heard of that term either. I like learning new things and sayings. That is what is so great with this site.

@ZedSmart I could never buy a live animal and then butcher it and eat it. I would live on vegetables and pasta and rice. I am an animal lover.

I think because it sold fresh and perishable goods. Some wet market do not usually sells live animals and butchered upon purchase but there are wet markets who do.

We call them wholesale fish market here. They are certainly cheap but problems are two fold first the market is almost 30 kms from here. and second you have to take them in bulk they are not available in retail. So convenient for some special occasion or for fish dealers and restaurants.

Before moving to our present home I lived in the northeastern part of the USA, we use to get bats every so often. I lived in a great place that had lots of wild animals.
