Not A Normal Life In A Normal Home

the maze we've made so she doesn't go beyond that table... it's crazy

Sometimes we wonder when are we going back normal life...mmmm.... Since my aunt has been staying with us a lot of changes had to be done at home. When you're home, you just leave your things on the table on the window without worrying that it'll just disappear. You're confident that you'll still see it at the same place you've left it. Now, before we sleep, we need to transfer our box of grocery away from the kitchen, block the fridge with the table or put a rope around it so nobody opens it. Then, when our clothes are done washing and has dried and folded, we take them away from the table and keep them. Why? One time I asked my mom and our helper if they've seen my clothes, they'd say it has been folded and ready to be kept and that they've placed it on the table so we can just pick them up and keep them. I'd complain or whine that it's not there. Only to see them inside the bag of my aunt. Even the little things in the house would suddenly disappear. And because she keeps on getting up at the middle of the night you see her walking around touching almost everything and keep them. I got scared one time. I was asleep then as I opened my eyes i was surprised that she was staring at me... my heart jumped and I said "Shoot, auntie why are you staring?" She answers I was just checking if you were asleep.... are you ok? That scared me and almost killed me with fright. The next day I had to bock the way, now there's a barricade a maze....ahahaha.... Thai is the scenario we are dealing with everyday. It's c. Sometimes I don't know how to deal with her already, how would you? We love her but she's now a headache and even when we experienced not so good things being with her when we were young we're taking care of her.

@Softncuddly What is exactly wrong with her? Does she have an illness or does she sleep walk?

@Softncuddly I figured there was something wrong why she does it. Can she be put in a home? Would that help?

something like Dementia and elderly mental illness. She doesn't sleep walk but whatever she sees, she takes it and keeps them.

@Hannihar , we want to but since we are on quarantine, the home won't take her yet.

That's terrible she's like that. I hope things return to normal soon so she can live on her own again, or is that not an option?

@Softncuddly That's terrible. My mother had Alzheimer's. Both my parents were in Assisted Living homes.

i doubt if she can still live on her own, that's one concern of my mom too. I'm not sure if its alzhimer's or dementia that she has. She's hard to handle. Haiiist...

@u, as much as we want to put her in a home, her family is not cooperating with us. We don't have enough to spend on her.

She doesn't have any family anymore. When my cousin was young, he left for the States and tried to petition her but she refused because other people were more important according to my cousin. He tried several times to get her but to no avail. Now, that she needs help they refuse to help her because my cousin said she never loved him. Where she was originally staying, she was abandoned even by her helpers. Nobody wanted to take her. My mom pittied her. She wanted to oput her in a home but budget was not enough. Now, we are the one's suffering.

Same to you, please take care. As much as I want to go out, I can't. There are police officers in the streets. So if we go out, we can't stay out so long.
