what's for dinner at our house -- IKEA meatballs! / myLot

Recently IKEA shared their recipe for their famous meatballs so that people who are sheltering in place can make them at home. I bought the ingredients on Friday to be able to make them today! I think I'll serve them with some mashed potatoes and green beans... I even have a jar of lingonberry jam that I can pull out (and if it turns out that I don't, I think I still have frozen lingonberries and can make a quick jam) and a bottle of the lingonberry beverage concentrate. The only part that's been stumping me a bit is the "double cream" called for in the sauce recipe, because we don't have double cream here in the United States. Instead I'm just using heavy cream, which isn't quite the same but will probably work for this purpose. Oh! I’ve never heard of lingonberries before. What do they taste like (other than the obvious: lingonberries

They're a bit like cranberries, but less tart. They're also smaller than cranberries. And yes, I have to put them together myself! Normally I'd buy a few bags of the frozen ones at IKEA, but no one can do that right now.

I'm surprised that the recipe for the sauce doesn't call for any brandy, as I was sure there had to be some in it. I hope it turns out the way I expect.
