Thanks Top Ten: We Thank Thee (#6)

This is the halfway point going up toward #1 on my list of favorites that have “thanks” in the title. I guess I should have warned John that there’d be a favorite or two (or four) show up....and here’s another all-time favorite with today’s song. #6: We Thank Thee - Jim Reeves Actually, the all-time favorite. My favorite singer. Reeves wasn’t much in songwriting, having only composed 75 songs in his life. Most of those didn’t get recorded. This one, however, did get recorded, and it’s a gem. The title track from Reeves’ 1962 gospel album (the second and final one released in his lifetime) is a simple prayer that also serves as a reminder of the blessings of the simpler things in life.
