Today while 'working' I decided to watch some Woodstock . Yup... not the original Woodstock at 1969 but the one that they had at 1999. 'Live at Woodstock 1999: 3 More Days of Love, Music, and Freedom' was really a big event at that time. It was the second attempt to have a similar 'Woodstock' concert and vibe, the first being 'Woodstock 1994'. Although, the essence of the original Woodstock was lost on this new one according to critics, the music was still very good. Not as good as those that played the original Woodstock but definitely the best that the year had to offer. I had gone through the sets of Korn, Limp Bizkit, Rage Against The Machine, and now I'm listening to the set of Metallica. My thoughts are they don't make stage concerts like this anymore. I'm talking about pre-CoVid19 pandemic days. Neither do they make this kind of music and the mosh pits, my God, the mosh pits!!! Where are these types of mosh pits nowadays? Everyone is busy taking videos on their phones. Now, I do know that there are reports of violence, looting, and rape during Woodstock 99 and these are sad and tragic incidents that marred an event for peace and understanding but remember people, this post is about the music. So looking at the lime up that played at the three stages during the weekend concert, man, I'm so impressed up to this day. Muse played in the 'Emerging Artists' stage, granted that they weren't popular yet at that time in the States. You look at the artists and bands that played in both the East and West stages and you would be impressed no doubt!!! Red Hot Chili Peppers, Elvis Costello, Willie Nelson, Jewel, Counting Crows, Kid Rock, The Chemical Brothers, Moby, Fatboy Slim, Bush, James Brown, The Roots, and George Clinton ... epic is the word that comes to mind! E-P-I-C-!!!

My grandmother was at the original Woodstock and many more after. I went to Bethel woods and toured the grounds and museum a few years back.

It would have been fun to attend. Too bad people couldn't behave themselves.

The original Woodstock was a big hit here because my elder brothers were fans. I was in high school but I am not a music lover.
