This is the Roberto adobe and Sunol House Museum on 770 Lincoln Avenue in San Jose. It is a historical landmark. It is in the Willow Glen area of San Jose. Willow Glen used to be a city. l The Adobe was built by a native American. named Roberto Balermino in about 1836He was a Tamien Indian, a branch of the Ohlone Indians , and he was believed to be the son of a chief.. He sold the property for $500 toAntonio Sunol in 1847.The Sunol House was built by Antonio Sunol in 1847. San Jose has only 2 extant adobes. , the Sunol was the first postmaster of San Jose and he owned the first store. He was also an alcalde.Alcalde is Spanish for mayor. He was also a sindico or district attorney, and a sub prefect. A few year@ later Sunol sold the house to Stephano Splivalo, an immigrant from Croatia, who added a second story to the house in 1853, creating the house we see today. The home has passed through several owners, including the Basuini Italian immigrant family in the early 1900s. Eventually it was bought by John Bruzzone, who paid $300000 in the early 1970s to renovate and seismically retrofit it. His children donated it to the California Pioneers, a preservation society, and it opened as a museum in 2016.house is on the National Registrar of Historic Places. The history of this place spans the Native American, Spanish,Mexican, Early American, and Modern American eras of San Jose's history. Among the artifacts inside are a desk owned by Peter Burnett, an early California governor, a cross from the Santa Clara mission and a bean sprayer.

I have always loved history and when I was there I would have went. We were across the highway and just a few blocks down behind the shopping center from The Winchester House when I was in Los Gatos. But my aunt wouldn't let us go.
