Dyed it red

Even before the quarantine has started, I've always wanted to color my hair purple. hahaha...But then, what is only available is the red henna my sister has sent us. The original color of my hair is dark brown and streaks of white. When I finally started dyeing, I thought I was gonna to have the red color but unfortunately, it didn't turn out what i expected it to be. Instead the color looked more like a copper. 
When I showed my hair to some friends, they said if I wanted a real red head, I should have bleached my hair first. They've been telling me to do that but I'm scared I might ruin my hair. But right now they said, I have to wait until my hair grows and then redo it, gosh... that'll take a while....hahahaha
Would you dye your hair when it starts turning white?
Plus, I want to have my haircut real short...Ohhh btw, originally my hair was until my butt, but now it's real short but i want it shorter.
What would you do?

@msdivkar, but sometimes it irritates me listening to some people calling you mommy because of having white hairs. So to look young, I try to dye my hair.

My Hair[
My hair was also almost to my butt and now I have it cut to brush just over my shoulders. I have put bleach in my hair once. It dries it out, and I don't like that. I have a darker brown color that I don't much like. When I want to dye my hair a red that really shows? I first lighten it with blonde hair dye. I let that sit in my hair for two weeks or more before I dye it the red color I want.
I have blonde hair dye on the way to me now, and will dye it blonde as soon as I get it. Then, in a couple of weeks, i will dye it a rose color that I really want it.
There are different types of henna out there, including some kits that put a bit of extra red in it.

How do you bleach? That's scares me. But I really want to try the red dye while we are on quarantine. lol

@Softncuddly I don't bleach anymore. The blonde hair dye acts as my bleach. If I'm going to go several shades lighter, I dye my hair blonde first and then dye it the shade I want.

my hair is light brown/ginger-ish 
i used purple temporary hair dye, but it came out red. or i take black temporary hair dye, but it only makes my hair a little bit darker my hair also grew during this quarantine, but i don't mind it, i never have guts to cut it shot

its hot here so decided to cut my hair. For the longest time my hair has been long and dark. But I'm trying to be bolder...hahaha
