Was the world ever so unpredictable?

I wonder if ever anyone, our ancestors faced times when the whole world was at this stage of uncertainty. No one knows what will happen, no one knows what is the correct way to deal with this and no one knows what the future holds.. And no one knows when this uncertainty will die...

I think future is always unpredictable, if not to the mass, then at least to an individual. I means we don't really know what future holds for us...

Be certain of one thing, you are alive and the master of your world. You can count every single war big or small as uncertain times. Include every plague, every natural disaster and so forth and so on. But I'll agree with our modern age we are all in the proverbial boat together it seems.
