This is a clipping from The People's Journal of Pickens, South Carolina November 30, 1899
The second half of the 19th century saw lots of different tonics and cures for all sorts of ailments. I find it interesting when I come across these types of ads. Things were not regulated then as they are today. Ingredients in these "cures" could be more deadly than the actual illness.
This particular tonic promises to prevent Chills, Dengue and Malarial fevers. I wonder how well it actually worked?
