This clipping comes from The Marlboro Democrat of December 20,1889
I was going to wait until tomorrow to post this, but I know that in some areas of mylot land, people are waking up to mother's day.
I wanted to remind those people that not everyone...
[][]Is a mother[][]
[][]Is able to become a mother[][]
[][]Still has their mother[][]
Some mothers no longer have their children either, and it's a hard day for them. In the past, I've seen people here ask whether someone is a mother and why not etc. All questions that seem innocent, but can hurtful to others..
So please keep in mind that for some, Mother's day is a day of mourning and remembrance. Even the most innocent of questions can be sharp like barbs to those feeling tender from their losses.
By all means, make a discussion wishing people a happy mother's day, but refrain from making comments / responses under non mother's day posts about mother's day.
Sincerely,
Someone who misses her mother..

Not a single day goes by that I don't miss my mother who passed away 4 years ago at the age of 94,more so on Mother's Day.

It's a hard day for many of us. It's been ten years, and her birthday and mother's day are two of the hardest days.

Thank You. Unfortunately, it was something I knew could happen from the time I was a little girl.

Thank You. I hope it's heeded. I've seen some people, although innocently, poke and prod and not realize that they are being insensitive.

I just hope enough people see it. I know that in past years here, even I have gotten some invasive questions, and I've had to tell them that I didn't feel comfortable answering them. I didn't think they were being nosey / mean, but were just trying to carry on a conversation.

I know that Tomorrow I plan to avoid most, if not all, of the mother's day posts that will swarm the newsfeed here and on facebook.

@CarolDM The only time I've spoken up is when I've seen someone ask questions I think might be too sensitive. I've not had to do that in a few years, though.
