What do you expect Trump's tax returns to reveal?

It is now looking more than likely that Donald's Trump will finally be forced to reveal his tax returns, going back a number of years. That does not mean that they will be made available to the general public, but it does mean that any items of particular interest will become public knowledge through legal channels. Trump has done everything he can to prevent this from happening, which must imply that he has something to hide. Given that he has always maintained that he is immune from disclosure by virtue of being President, it also explains his burning desire to get re-elected and put off the "evil day" for another four years. However, it seems that he is going to be disappointed, even if he is successful in November. So what is it that he is so anxious to keep secret? The general feeling appears to be that it has something to do with money-laundering. Conspiracy theories will doubtless abound, and they might well concern Trump's former business practices and the people he has dealt with in the past. For example, at one time he established and ran casinos in Atlantic City. How could he have done this without getting the approval of certain shadowy people who have long been known to run such enterprises and to deal severely with anyone threatening to break their monopoly? Was there maybe a "quid pro quo" to allow Trump to operate in return for performing various financial services? Is this what he is so anxious to hide? As I say - a conspiracy theory for which I do not have anything in the way of proof. But this is surely the sort of question that is bound to be asked.

@indexer it is SUPPOSED to here too, but when you have lots of money, you can buy evidence and even witnesses and sometimes judges

@Jessicalynnt That sounds like a corrupt system to me. It has always surprised me that the American legal system is so political. In the UK we do not elect legal officials or appoint high court judges on the basis of their politics. I think our way of doing things in this regard is better.

In the UK, this is the sort of thing that puts you in jail. I wonder how many Trumps will end up there.

I don't expect them to reveal a single thing every other business man's tax returns would reveal. At his level most of us haven't a clue how the world works. To me this is just another chapter in the continuing saga to defeat Trump. Wish they'd stop the shenanigans and get busy helping him fight for our country, the rest doesn't even matter.

Would you not be worried to learn that your country is being run by a criminal?

@indexer Aren't all countries run by criminals according to one person or another? I expect perfection from no one.

@indexer I would like to add that also I have come to a point where I don't believe anyone anymore who holds any office. I especially don't believe the media and now know they all have their own agendas but that does not have to mean I have to adopt those agendas. All I want is a well run country and that takes the entire country not just one man at the top. I look at what Trump did and does not what he says or what others say about him. What I see is a 70 something year old man doing a damn lot for this country and bringing back the values that made us great. The talky talk doesn't matter.

I will say this : I believe Trump has been floundering for years since his father has passed away. I also would not be surprised to find his money tied in with the mafia in some way or another. It still perplexes me to see those who still believe the president is doing a good job running the US, especially amid his response to the pandemic.

Once more I have my eye on the Trump news. Sometimes entertaining sometimes irritating and sometimes I ask myself the question and this affects my life how? I might be behind the times on this topic. I thought everyone needs to submit to tax assessment correct? What happens to people who have conducted illegal activity? Don't they go to jail?
