A Whopping Nine Point One K.

It was time for supplies, my daughter and I geared for protective gears and headed to a nearby grocery. The rain was upon us, so the rain gear was fitting. Ha ha. But of course, it was still uncomfortable. The plastic clings to the skin. Doubled the supply purchase: ten cartons of milk, two packs of detergent, two fabric conditioner, two toothpastes, ten bars of Dove, two safeguard hand wash, the zonrox was limited to four, and so on and so forth. We used two trolleys, too. I was wondering how much we would pay as the carts slowly filled up. The tab showed a staggering PhP 9,100. I immediately thought about the potatoes that cost 97 pesos per pack and I took 3, and the papaya Tagalog that did cost a shocking 107 pesos. Oh well, it's either the pandemic inflation or you go hungry and just die. I consoled my self with the thought that my supplies would at least last a month. I have sky flakes and noodles for back-ups. I wouldn't have to troop to the grocery again soon. My daughter was oblivious. She was content with her fruit juice, and amazed at the wind and the rain like she's never known one. Glad she was home from the hospital.

I am glad you got all that you need for a month of supply. Grocery shopping is no more fun.

@thelme55 Yup. There's a convenient store near us. Pricey though.

Indeed. I couldn't afford veggies now. The cauliflower is like gold. Sigh. There's an online group in my community that offers to deliver vegetables for five hundred pesos minimum. Didn't avail because the veggies rot quick. Sigh again.

Yup, you are right. Grocery shopping used to be an enjoyable activity. We even linger longer in an aisle deciding which brand to take, read and compare, pick one over the other, and sigh. Now, we grab the essentials as quickly - physically avoiding people like they have the plague! How cruel I am, I felt. Just to realize they see me the same way - like I am the plague! Hu hu.
