Say it with flowers.

A popular adage - Take time to smell the flowers. A sweet lesson learned from childhood. And I took it to heart, to this very day. My Mommy did plant roses in front of our garden grotto. I watered the plants each day and watched the buds bloom. My old home is now a memory, as with my beautiful Mommy, cherished and very much missed. My daughter sent me an album of Queen Mary's Rose Garden in London, she knew how much the flowers fill me with joy. And of course, the sentimental me becomes melancholic. Hu hu. Yesterday, I heard Mass online again. Gosh, this is the most painful part of the pandemic, being deprived of the Mass in the Church. But my agony was soothed by the roses that adorned the altar. People expressed the same sentiments as mine with roses. Love it. Look.

I love poetry, from the three-verse haiku to the humorous limericks, from Wadsworth Longfellow to Will Shakespeare, and Marlowe's 'Come live with me and be my love.' How much I desire to be a poet, yes, I have tried. A seventh grade poem was published in our school paper, and I was surprised. The shocking part was the teasing that came after, as if the poem and the writer don't jibe. Thus the early demise of a wannabe poet. But my mind still wanders... Thank you, for seeing and recognizing. You are an encouragement to the soul.

@eileenleyva I can PM you a site where you can try submitting written content and poems. I am not a active poet, and more of a "writing" person, but two of my novice-like poems got published there.
