I watched this on netflix last night.
Directed and Starring Alan Rickman as King Louis XIV.
Kate Winslet plays the role as gardener for a grand piece at the Palace of Versailles. This puts her into direct contact with the court of King Louis XIV, and some of the drama it entails. She falls in love with a man of a jealous wife, and well that's all I'll say.
I liked the movie, but I do think that some of the romance could have been played out just a bit more.
I saved several other things to my list, and might even watch several of them today, depending on whether I get done with the things I need to get done.
Have you seen this film?
Directed by Alan Rickman. With Kate Winslet, Alan Rickman, Stanley Tucci, Matthias Schoenaerts. Two talented landscape artists become romantically entangled while building a garden in King Louis XIV's palace at Versailles.

This didn't actually focus a lot on the actual history. It was more of a sweet little story, but it also didn't focus a lot on the romance aspect either. I still thought it was a good movie.
