Each one us are either left handed or right handed. It means if you are a right handed person you use it for writing, eating, holding and so on . A left handed person uses his left hand for the same task. So that becomes the dominant hand. I was initially a left handed person by birth and even started writing with my left hand and also eating. My parents felt I need to be right handed as eating with left hand was not good. Even at my school the desks were designed suiting a right handed person. So I had to start relearning from scratch to be right handed. A slow and painful process and in a matter of 6 months with lots of practise and encouragement from my parents I became right handed by age of 06 but still continue to use my left hand for using tools like hammering, combing etc.. Have you faced similar situation and how was the experience?

@Janet357 we are born either as a left handed or a right handed. It depends upon which part of our brain is more dominant. For a right handed person left brain is dominant and vice versa. There is nothing wrong in either.

I think it's a mistake to change that, I'm writing on the right hand.
