{Old Ads} Wine for Women who are ttc

United States

I found this in the Lancaster enterprise (Lancaster, S.C.), March 4, 1899 Wine of Cardui The ad fails to mention that there is atleast 20% alcohol in the product. Of course, it's highly unlikely that women realized the ill effects of alcohol when ttc, or when pregnant. I also found a link that gives more info about what this was. I'll link below. I do not take medicine now, but I am certainly glad I was not living in those times, when medicine was more likely to kill than cure.

Search ebay, there are some for sale there. A friend of mine told me that several years ago, when Washington DC was working on putting these prints to microfilm, he bought one of the old papers. I do not know how much he paid.
