Korean Minister to Stop Massacre of Cats and Dogs in Response to Avian Flu Outbreak In response to an outbreak of avian flu (the H5N1 virus), South Korean officials are now in the process of slaughtering hundreds of thousands of animals within range of the outbreak site, including chickens, pigs, cats and dogs. Since there is no scientific evidence that humans can contract the virus from cats and dogs, killing them seems pointlessly cruel, but the practice of eating dog and cat meat in South Korea could fuel the slaughter. Please "Take Action" to urge the South Korean Minister of Agriculture to spare cats' and dogs' lives. http://ga0.org/campaign/avianflu Please be polite. Korea is especially sensitive to comments that can be construed as racist or Western superiority. Just send the message AS IS if you are unsure.
