Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption by Laura Hillenbrand I just finished this book yesterday and all I can say is, wow. This is a non-fiction book, or biography of sorts, that is written about a Louis Zamperini, a WWII veteran who had some crazy experiences. The book starts out with his teenage and high school years, where he becomes a famed and Olympic runner. He either joined or was drafted (sorry, I totally forget which of the two it was) into the Air Force to help fight during World War II. Unfortunately, a plane he pilots crashes into the ocean, and the three occupants, Louie and two other soldiers are stuck on a raft, literally in the middle of no where, with sharks circling their raft, floating along the ocean, with no provisions, hoping for a rescue plane or someone to come to help. They are stranded out there for ~45 days. The book follows their fightening experiences as they float along the ocean, attempting to catch fish, stay sane, and stay alive.... They finally find themselves at an island, which at first they think is a great thing. But then they discover is a Japanese-controlled island, and the american shipwrecked soldiers are taken into custody of the Japanese as Prisoners of War. This book follows the men's experience with being tortured, starved, and eventually saved as Americans win the war. I know there are a few different books on Louis Zamperini, but this is a good one. At the beginning of the book, it was mostly about his running career, but if you stay patient, it gets into the crazy, war non-fiction. The craziest part is that it is all non-fiction. I do enjoy these types of memoirs and biographies. Have you read this one, heard of this fellow, or read any good World War II memoirs or non-fiction books?

I've heard of the book but not the person. I used to read noon-fiction but mostly if beginning presidents. I don't have our take time to read much these days maybe once I retire I can pick that back up. I did downed a book by Stephen King to see whether he wrote about they pandemic as my video link portrays it not.

He was an amazing man. I can't imagine the life he lived, but I am thankful he and others like him did.
