Funny experiences in Egypt

Egypt

From the time I arrived to Egypt I love the atmosphere but I also had some cultural shock. I took my way with the taxi to my hotel on highway and after about half an hour we arrived to some narrow roads with soil ground, not built and sometimes a bit rough. On the side of the roads we passed by all kinds of shops from small food stores through electronics to fruits and vegetable and food stands. Finally we arrived to the hotel. Small hotel with a tiny reception at the entrance. A tall Egyptian man, around 35 years old came to greet me and take my luggages. While I was checking in, he gave me the straight question if I have a husband or boyfriend. I wasn't interested about hooking up with anyone there so I said that I have a fiance. Then he answered that if my boyfriend changes his mind, he'll give for me 300 camels. I have to admit I felt flattered. I heard stories of some girl friends that they got offer of 150 camels when they were in Egypt. I went up to the terrace and I got the view I was looking forward to. On one side the great pyramids and on the other side I could see the street with the cars and tuk tuks and 4 donkeys and a camel was standing in front of the hotel at the side of the road. One of the donkeys walked away to hang out with his buddy at the corner. Because they weren't tied anywhere, they could wonder freely. But I think they always stayed around their place. They're very smart animals actually. While I was enjoying the view, I puzzled how will this guy bring all those camels here through the narrow streets where everyone's face will fall down. I imagined it would only be possible through the desert. And how would the transfer to Europe and placing them would be sorted?! A weird picture came into my head of 300 camels standing on someone's farm in the UK, after landing them because I couldn't place them anywhere. Later on of course I realized it must be all a joke. And nowdays they probably sort it out with money but still count it with camels. I haven't accepted the deal anyway. The other interesting thing here is the crazy traffic, there's no rules on the roads, like in India just in smaller version. Cars passing next to each other so close that nearly skretching each other while tuk tuks were rushing next to them. And sometimes they just cut in front of us to fly to the other side of the road through the separation line. They are always in a rush because most of them don't have licence. I haven't seen a single crossroad for passengers in Cairo. People just crossing in between the cars which are coming with normal speed, tuk tuks flying and just going around them. I don't know how they do it.. If my partner wouldn't be next to me all the time I would poo myself in the middle of the road. Maybe their president will change on this situation too, since he did already lots of changes. He builds a lot, people are saying he is an engineer. One day we were passing by a Casto cafe. Not Costa.. same logo, exactly same writing and colour but they changed the first "o" with "a". Because of the lockdown it was closed so I couldn't try it, but as soon as opens I will try and compare and share my experiences with selfie. I haven't imagined that they even copy cafés..The same day I seen a Tommy Hollinger shop too. Same logo as well, or such a small change that you cannot see. Apart from all these in my view people are really nice and helpful, they have a good heart. They helped me too with giving me room on cheap price eg. and everyone were very welcoming. But you have to find the right people. Because also a lots of them would hassle you like everywhere in the world they do with foreigners. Also if you buy a property here do just through very trusted companies, the ones advertising in TV as well. Otherwise you could pay a lots of money and stay without property at the end. It has happened before. To be continued...

Was the offer of 300 camels for getting hitched with the tourist guide a joke or genuine. Was it the right thing to ask to a tourist ; needs lot of answers.

@jayanth_77 Yes of course, you cannot trust anyone if you don't know the person. If you accept it, you have to make sure to get the camels or the money first and get transferred to you, like in a business transaction.. (I mean the people who accept it)..But I doubt anyone is really serious who says something like that, except if it's a sheik or if you have already seen that this person has a big camel ranch. :) But if eg. a manager of a small a hotel or any random person tells anything like this better to take it as a joke. Not many people here having so much camels, you find more people like that in Saudi Arabia, not in Egypt..

@jayanth_77 Hi Jay! No, the tour guide wasn't there, I just arrived alone from the airport and the taxi gone too. I haven't talked about it with him again, I left next day so I don't know for sure until now.. but I think he was joking, some people like joking with this here and he didn't look like someone who's having 300 camels, but never know..

Could you please divide such a long text into more shorter paragraphs? It would be easier to read, especially for people with glasses.

300 camels? Can you sell them, break off the relationship, and keep the money? I'm just thinking cause ... I really have no use for camels.
