Different species?

Last night, the rains 'mellowed down' to just showers; there were no more thunder and lightning. It was cool and it was so conducive to sleep because it was quiet - darkness was silent, I thought. But then, right outside my room, along the pathway, an unusual croak of a frog sounded. It was different from the ones we heard before. The previous croak was like a water buffalo calling its herd, in a low tone voice. It was a big bull frog. Last night, it was not the sound of a bull frog. It sounded like an adult rooster with productive cough unable to expectorate. Pardon how I describe, but that sound made my beloved sister shout at it with a "HOOOYYY!" (As if the frog listens to her!) Maybe that frog is left out by its family, I do not know. But maybe it is a different species?

The toads here sound like a mooing cow or a gander. When we moved here I didn't know that they were toads.

@ridingbet there are some bullfrogs in our backyard but I was able to eradicate them. But the vacant lots nearby have a lot of frogs and toads. When it rains they are noisy.

@Alexandoy indeed, if the lots or fields become like swamps.

The male frog make noise to attract the female. It's common during rainy season.

That's creepy. It seems a mutant turtle came to your house, Kabsat.

@ridingbet It will make Serena scared if she heard it. I am sure you had watched the TV series, Dolce Amore.

@Shavkat ohh, i forgot na, kabsat. but with Serena Williams yelling when she hits the tennis ball, i bet her sound would be a good sound of a female frog needing her Romeo for mating spree.
