Social distance dining made easy with stuffed animals

Japan

Today I saw something very clever. In Japan, now that our state of emergency has been lifted, some restaurants are re-opening. Most public places have signs sitting in every other seat to remind people to leave space. However, there is a café that belongs to a zoo which solved the problem in a cute way. They have a lot of large stuffed animals sitting on every other chair with their large heads sticking up. So you can be safe and social distance, but enjoy the cuteness of these animals. My only disagreement would be trying to keep the stuffed animals from collecting germs. Otherwise I think it's a brilliant idea. What do you think?
This zoo's thought up the cutest possible way to keep some barriers up between diners at their eatery.

I also just learned that even in normal times there are a few cafes that offer the companion stuffed animal if someone is eating alone.

I think it`s a great idea. You`re right they have to wash the stuffed dolls in order not to get some virus there.

I think Japanese people are very aware and so they will disinfect carefully. But I bet children will touch the dolls a lot.

My guess is they would disinfect them every day in a restaurant. It's a cute idea. You just wouldn't take your kids, because they'd be begging to take them home lol

They sure would. They would try to put them in their back pocket if the animals weren't so big.

It seems good to me, you just have to look at them and not touch them although it must be difficult not to try to touch the stuffed animals.

Me? I would touch without thinking first. I love stuffed animals (and real ones).

You are right . 100's of people will dind on each table every day and touch the doll with their dirty hand. If not Corona then something else can happen like allergy or skin infection. Keeping dolls on empty chair is not the right idea.

I hope they at least will spray them with disinfectant after each dining group of people.

@petatonicsca yes spraying disinfectant could be done on the dolls after 1 dining is over.
