George Floyd was killed Monday, a Memorial day.
A can of worms was opened.
The people took to the streets, in protest that turned into riots. A civil unrest.
There was anger, frustration, anxiety that could be contained no longer. A saturation point.
In an ironic twist, the nation literally opens. Not to prettify in a salon, Nor swim. But to rally.
George Floyd, after all, was an American. Worth fighting for.

@MALUSE Am still tuned to the protestations. Thus far, the rallies are peaceful. The people are venting up their pent-up emotions.

Civil unrest is when people peacefully demonstrate. This was a riot. We had SEVEN people shot here. That is NOT a “demonstration.” It’s a crime.

The riot happened in Minneapolis and St. Paul. Current time still shows peaceful protests in California, Detroit, New York, Atlanta, etcetera.

@eileenleyva — we did have a shooting here.....in March. No protests until Thursday, though.
Beyond Minneapolis, turbulent protests erupted across the country from Phoenix to Columbus, where some protesters breached the Ohio Statehouse.

It sounds like the people were frustrated and any about this virus and this killing was an excuse for them to let it all out sort of like a stick of dynamite suddenly going off

Not an excuse. Killing is never right.

It has been so many days but still the protest continues. While many are into peaceful protests, others have brought shame by riots and vandalism. It's a shame that they have demeaned and diluted the cause of protest. Now this is going on worldwide.

Vandalism and arson were the despicable acts of the anarchists. The protesters were generally peaceful.
