They are ready enough to hang and leave to mature or if I want to make fried green plantain tostones that are also very good companions in meals, this one only has 38 plantains which is good.

Are these the ones you cook or eat raw? A few months ago my mother in law bought some cooking ones thinking she could eat them raw

I never knew there were differences in the bananas. I use the same ones to eat any way. I put them in my shakes some mornings.

@ramapo17 I think the ones you cook with are actually called plantains, but they look like large bananas ??

@Dragonairy1 I have heard of plantains but they are somewhat different than the usual bananas.

Good that you have a crop to harvest there.

There are 3 banana plants with fruits in our yard. I always wait for one banana to turn yellow before I harvest. That is to make sure that the bananas are all matured.

What else do you do with them when you have a lot. I have a lot and I am the only one that likes them here. I froze a lot right on the stem, I also de-hydrated some and put them in the freezer but those I don't know what to do with. The ones on the stem that I put in the freezer, I put in my morning shake.
