Why do kids copy their heroes ?

India

I read about a news article sometime back where a small boy of 6 years age was crazy about spiderman comics and cartoons. He was so fond of Spiderman that he wore Spiderman outfit, acted like Spiderman and only played with spider man toys. One day while playing with his friends he jumped from his house thinking that he has the spider man web to hatch on to but he fell down to the ground. Luckily his fall was slowed down by the branches of a tree below and he escaped with minor injuries. Finally he stopped acting like a spiderman . Are our kids crazy about heroes? Why makes them get attracted to super heroes? What can be done to control such craze?

That`s why parents have to guide their kids when they are watching super heroes. They must know that those things can only be possible in the movies but not in real

I agree but parents allow their kids to watch super hero movies without making them understand that they are just fiction.

That is why these movies or even cartoons has classifications from rating boards. It says parental guidance is a must, meaning a parent or supervising adult must explain to kids that what they're watching are not real. They can idolize these superheroes but parents must be wary of their children acting out what super heroes do to avoid their kids from getting into trouble.

@jayanth_77 Exactly! Make your children understand the difference of movies to real life. What's real and what's not.

I agree with you.Children idolise their heroes and kids must be explained that in reality super heros don't exist and people don't have supernatural powers in real life.

Yes, my daughter is imitating the superheroes she watched on Disney. Sometimes when we are in the middle of a conversation she would say, Mom wait, I need to transform now! But so far in a good way. I think as parents we should really guide them and tell don't try this and that especially with that spiderman like act.

Yes kids believe everything that's shown on TV or read in cartoons and books. Usually parents don't sit with the kid while they watch movies because they feel the child is engaged but it can be harmful.

@jayanth_77 Children are impressionable. That is why they look up to their heroes. Under the age of eight, the children must strictly be supervised.

I remember a time when my son was into Karate. One day he did a Karate move on our couch. He happened to hit the side of the couch where it wasn't soft. He broke his toe.

Yes I also like those news a lot.. But it very hard to control kids from this type of addiction.. That's why I always says my kid on watching like those shows those are not really they are graphics so don't follow them.. At first they not like to hear my words then I after I shows them some movie making videos then they understand.. Then after they not try those activities.. As a parents it is our duty to say real facts behind like those shows..

I agree with you completely. Kids must be shown how movies are made and what is shown is not real. Even the recent Ramayana serial re telecast on TV caused many kids with eye injury due to the bow and arrow scene copied by the kids at home.
