Hello from the road! Well, from a hotel room on the road. No, the hotel is stationary, I’m on...never mind. (And that’s my Sam Drucker impersonation for the day. ) Here’s another song from the world of rock and roll that has “home” in the title, the companion countdown to the country “home” songs I finished and the one with “house” in the title. #9: Take the Long Way Home - Supertramp Or, what does Hillbilly do every time she goes on the road? My putting coach hates this band. I can understand why, because bands like Boston and Journey do to me what Supertramp does to him. I’m not the biggest fan on the planet, but the 1979 mega-album Breakfast in America was one of the albums I bought as soon as I got out of boot camp. If you’ve listed to FM rock in the past 40 years you’ve heard this song a time or 60,000. I don’t listen to the radio anymore, so I only hear it once every 8,400 songs or so. Most music is far more tolerable that way. So I’m off on who-knows-what today. Meanwhile, enjoy this familiar tune. Take the Long Way Home Written by Roger Hogdson Recorded by Supertramp From Breakfast in America, 1979 You never see what you wanna see:
