is it better to watch on 4k tv

than in just ordinary hd tv if I intend to watch mostly free local channels. I love bright screen when watching TV but my hd tv now is not bright enough for me. Would upgrading to 4k tv give better watching experience of local channels. I would love to know.

Higher resolution increases the depth of the video but doesn't make much of a difference except a high price to pay. Your ordinary HD TV is good for all practical purposes.

Thankfully i didn't buy the 4k television which the salesmen is offering me to buy instead of the hd tv only

@hotsummer Don't believe in the sales man as he needs business from you and he will try to offer you lot of gooddies to make you buy.

@jayanth_77 yeah I wasn't able to see that the salesman was just trying to sway me into buying that. But I didn't buy right away but thought it over I came back the next day to buy the HD TV which was really my first plan on buying. So glad I didn't spend more money and sticked to my plan to save the money for more important or other things with the money

Yeah it's hard to get sometimes good reception. We have at least 8 local channels but at the moment there only two free local channels I could get. And it says it is the tv station is sd signal only. Thanks for the reply

@mrki444 I'm not planning anymore after learning that it's not a big improvement or different from HD tv but unless there's like 50 percent drop in price then I might consider it as my next tv

@hotsummer Don't buy 4K if you don't have 4K. Even stores don't have it.
