What a Bummed Out Morning!

Our Friday started out with too much activity and then bad news hit. First, my hubby sold his truck and his project for today was to clean it out and get it ready for pick up. He lost the key and couldn't find the extra key either. He paniced, so I joined in on the search. After about an hour he found the back up key. Whew!
Just a few minutes later we got a phone call that his niece who was the flower girl in our wedding had been taken to the hospital and wasn't given much hope beyond a miracle to live. She had been to the doctor with terrible swelling in her leg recently and was also diagnosed with diabetes. Her blood sugar was over 900 when the ambulance arrived and she was non-responsive. They shocked her and brought her back but she also suffered either a stroke or heart attack and was brain dead when tests were run at the hospital. She leaves behind two children.
I will spend the rest of the day being thankful for my life, my children, mother and the rest of my family.
I hope everyone is having a better Friday!
Photo is dedicated my our niece, Cammie.

I am so sorry to hear of this tragic news. Was your niece aware of her blood sugar levels prior to this. That number is astronomical, and it's a miracle she survived as long as she did. My prayers are going out to you, and especially your husband, during this time. How old are her two children?

She hadn't been diagnosed as a diabetic very long. She had some swelling issues as well and the doctor was concerned about that. Looks like he wasn't concerned enough! Her children are early 40's for oldest and 25/26 for youngest. Thank you for your prayers.
