Despite of the Community Quarantine, I was able to come early to a payment center and paid there.
People there started whining about how the electric company foolishly guess our meter numbers caused high bill amount.
They should li-low about forcing people to pay bills since economy just jumpstarted a little with this GCQ. Small businesses hasn't even recovered yet.
Have you paid your bills yet?

I paid most of my bills except for 1 month electric because they won't accept my money. They said 1 bill per month which I think is stupid because they combined March and April in one bill so they only got my money for one of those months.
Of course the May bill was ridiculously high guess work amounting to 10,000 php or 200 dollars

@hereandthere I think they will issue us a new bill where everything is compiled plus no cutting of power. I already assembled 2 bicycles for any eventuality
if only I could slap the power company with my money

i agree. we received a new bill again today. when i tallied them from march to june, the june amount is double. mar, apr and may are around our usual amounts.
i also had a problem with the bills payment at the supermarket. they say their system only accepts the current amount and that we have to go to the meralco office. how can we when there are no jeepneys yet?

My bill was 100$ but the rest of it with other bills cost 200$. They must be nuts, they should have accepted it, i mean you were determined to settle all of it @louievill. what the hell they were thinking @hereandthere I had no idea something ridiculous like that would happen at the payment centers.

the word 'hocus pocus' comes to mind.
lockdown started mar 15 so we had no bill for march and april.
the first bill we got arrived may 4.
the overdue bill (supposedly march) is higher than current (may).
then when the next bill arrived (around june 1 or 2), the amount for may is the same as march.
today, june 10, another bill arrived showing our june bill is double.
how can that be when the number of people and appliances stayed the same?

@Letranknight2015 but still no jeepney so i still can't go to the meralco office. will just have to pay it in full and hope they will deduct or offset the excess/overcharges when things have normalized.

@hereandthere Hope they don't guess meter numbers again. I mean that really makes you angry as a consumer.

Good thing about this though it's no longer ECQ that means less lines of customers @hereandthere

Yes, I had already paid my June bills... I am paying them online and it is so convenient because I don't have to go to the city to pay. Public transportation is still a problem here, and of course, the virus is still out there. I am hesitant to go out of town...

@Letranknight2015 Yes, it is. The electric company set up a bill for every month that is good for 2 persons in a household. They get it from our bank account then if we have used less electricity in a year than was expected, we will get a refund.
