Yesterday morning around 5:00 I seen that I had got a notification from Ancestry.com informing me that my DNA test results were done and posted to my DNA website. I was so happy! and I went to my computer and turned it as well as making my way to the results that were posted. I found another half sibling possibly!!!! And I was also able to get in touch with a cousin that I had not seen since we were young kids! Has anyone else taken the Ancestry.com DNA test? It is really good!

Yes it is, you can find out great info and find connections to relatives that you didn't know that you had or didn't know where they were.

I have not. I sort of want to but I don't know where the information will end up or who will have access to it. I'm glad you found your cousin again. Maybe there will be other relatives too.

Thanks, the information is private unless you link someone to it.

@dfollin I don't believe it is private. Law enforcement uses it to trace DNA in crimes.

@akalinus Well if you haven't done anything than you don't have anything to worry about. Police can get a court order for ANYTHING from ANYWHERE!!!!! . And the details in it is not that type of DNA it tells what type of blood from what country you inherrited from your body and who you are related to.

No, I heard they have proprietary laws where they can use it for anything, any time, anywhere.

No I think if the authorities get a court order they can. I have never heard of that. Besides these DNA tests only show relationships and the places you have blood from. Like for instance I am estimated to have blood in my ancestry given to me 81% England, Wales and Northwestern Europe , 19% Irish and Scottish and less than 1% Senegal. It is 100% positive that my son is my son and everyone else it is divided into percentages of various possible relations. So, by these tests there is nothing here that could harm me.
