There’s country! There’s rock! Then there’s what I listen to.
Actually, there are a few well-known names on this part of the triple countdown of songs that do not have the song’s title in the lyrics. You’ll know the person at #1. And here’s a well-known name to kick off this part of the countdown.
#12: Political Science - Randy Newman
I’ve wondered for years why Tom Lehrer never had a longer career. Then I realized that Randy Newman basically took over Lehrer’s job, which forced Lehrer not to quit his day job (mathematics professor).
Speaking of “professor,” Professor Newman is here to give you a crash course in sarcasm. This is it. Sarcasm 101. Your first lesson. There will be no test, because this is just too easy.
Newman rips the nationalistic arrogance (not unique to the US, but he’s American, so what else is he going to write about?) to shreds in this two-minute ditty about dealing with the other countries.
The only sad part about this, and so many other works of sarcasm, is that there are people who’ll take this seriously.

He’s very well known in America, especially for the soundtracks to the Toy Story movies.
